Help us keep our downtown planting beds tidy and healthy.

Spring has SPRUNG and Avoca Main Street's Design Committee would love your help to keep our downtown bumpouts and planting beds looking fabulous for the growing season. 
Individuals, families, or businesses can adopt a planting bed. Many hands make light work, and each assigned bed shouldn't take one person more than a couple hours to weed, trim, and clean up. We provide the guidelines, and you provide the tools and elbow grease! 

SPRING CLEANUP VOLUNTEER GUIDELINES

Remove and dispose of litter and weeds
Remove the dead foliage as needed
Cutt off the dead branches of rose bushes where the green meets the brown, leaving no less than twelve inches
Provide own hand tools for area maintenance
Notify City of Avoca if you experience problems or concerns at 343-2424

WHAT TO BRING

Hand tools such as weeders and pruners
Rakes for leaves
Yard bags to dispose of plant waste
Garbage bags to dispose of litter
Garden gloves
