Avoca Main Street Fourth of July Celebrations Announced
Avoca, Iowa – June 18, 2025 – Avoca, Iowa – The City of Avoca and Avoca Main Street, Inc. have announced plans for 2025’s Fourth of July Celebrations.
Celebrations will begin in the morning and last through fireworks at dusk. Raddberry’s Bakery is hosting a Car Show on South Elm Street starting at 9 a.m. and lasting until noon, with smoked meats available for attendees. From 10am-1:30pm, the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts will have soda floats and walking tacos available at Olesen Auto Center at 126 N Elm Street. Starting at 11 a.m. in front of the Courthouse, the kids pedal tractor pull competition will begin, sponsored by Titan Machinery. At 11 a.m. the popular food tent hosted by the United Church of Avoca will open at 304 N Elm Street. Please register your parade entries starting at noon at the East Pottawattamie County Fairgrounds at 307 W Lincoln St. Pauley Jones Funeral Home is sponsoring popsicles for parade attendees to enjoy starting at 1:30 p.m. near the Courthouse. The Parade starts at 2 p.m. and will go north from the Fairgrounds to Wool Street, where it will turn west towards Pine Street and then return south to the Fairgrounds. The City of Avoca and the Avoca Volunteer Fire & Rescue will have fireworks at CountryView Golf Course starting at dusk. The fireworks display is also viewable from Edgington Memorial Park.
This year’s Grand Marshall is J and Mary Pearson, recognized for their vigorous volunteerism throughout the community.
